Remington 887
« on: May 18, 2010, 08:19:01 AM »
???   I picked up this gun for the first time on Monday and was shocked to find a Remy that fits me. It fits me as well as the Mossy's I have used and was really a surprise that it fits me. It points well and should be a fine gun. Just wondering if any one has an idea about this gun. My first post in at least a year, knee replacement and them my wife suffered renal failure 9 weeks ago. this has been a tough summer. Things are better and i am going to hunt for the first time in 3 years in the Dove opener. Nice to be back among friends. Jess

I am looking to grab an 887 as well. I sold my Benelli to do so. I grew up using a 870 Wing master, and I am a lefty so I grew accustomed to rolling the gun while bringing it up for  the shot to take the safety to fire. The Benelli nova has the safety in front of the trigger housing, so by the time I got the darn thing off safe everything was gone GGGRRRR.

;D This is the first remington that has ever fit me. i have tried the 870 10 times over 50 years of shooting and couldn't hit a barn at close range with one. The 887 I mount and never need to move my head to pick up the beads. i think it's the stepped rib that did the trick. I picked mine up yesterday for my birthday present I turn 60 today.......Boy does this hurt....I don't mind it just didn't have to happen so darn quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o :o :o I had a Nova i did not like it, yet the 887 looks like a space gun but i sure like the way it handles.  Jess

:P  After talking to the shop owner i buy my guns from I returned the 887 for a new Camo Super Nova to go with my Steven 512 O/U in 12ga. The reviews on the 887 are less than grand do after reading and the discussion with the dealer the switch was made. This is a much better gun than the 887 and fits me as well. Jess
