New for me Handi Rifle
« on: May 18, 2010, 03:57:05 PM »
I picked up a very nice used Superlight Compact in .243 for a "can't resist it" price today.  The serial number has a "NT" prefix.  I'll take it to the range as soon as I can and give a range report.  What can you guys tell me about them?  Are they generally accurate?

As a bonus, my .44 Mag. barrel fits perfectly.  I may end up selling the SB1 frame from the .44.

Don't sell the frame you want to shoot both at same time!!
Like a wife  a child or a friend, I have been working to all my barrels complete guns.

One in each hand? ;D  Not prabable with these calibers, plus barrel changing is easy.  I've done it many times with Contender carbines.  That and I've already put the .44's stock on it to get the extra 2" of pull.  When it comes to hunting season, I may put the shorter stock back on to allow for the thickness of clothing.  I consider most rifles stocks too long for hunting anyway, especially with rubber recoil pads that "stick" to the coat when shouldering the rifle.

Keep the barrel cool and it'll be OK. That's the biggest problem with the superlight barrels... when they get hot the groups open up. They make great carry guns because of the light weight and good balance.
