A SAA type revolver, transfer bar action, with a thunderer rounded grip frame, super blackhawk style hammer, and a 3 1/2" barrel with ejector rod in 44 spl or .45 colt.  Hmmm.  Mayber a New Vaquero, or Montado with the grip frame worked on.  But it has to be blue, no stainless.  Got to work on this one!  44 Man

Ruger Bisley .44 w/7.5" barrel; had it for a while now and others have come and gone. Had a customized BFR with all the trimmings, still preferred my Bisley.

I'm liking an Old Army as well right now, if that counts.

For me, it's not just one revolver, it's a matched pair.

Colts. SAA. 4&3/4 bbls. Black Powder frames. All blued frames. Elephant Ivory grips. Caliber .45colt. Bulseye ejectors. Fixed sights.

Come to think of it, those are my normal "Go to" pistols that I have now. LOL !!!!!!

For over-all looks and quality, I like my blue and case 4 3/4 USFA .44 spec.  As a using S/A, I am partial to my SS 4 3/4 Super Blackhawk - it balances and carries well, and is way too accurate for a short barreled wheel gun with open sights.

Tough call, but this 44 Special would be in the running with a few others.

i dream of fancy Bowen/Turnbull customs, but so far i can't think of why i'd need any more than my stock USFA Storekeeper 3.5” 45 Colt with Birdshead (Bisley-style) hammer, standard grip, ejector, Turnbull Case Hardening & Dome blue.

unlike most guys, i prefer checkered rubber grips over wood. and although i originally expected to have to send it off to Hamilton for tuning, i'm more than happy with the action as i received it from (and smoothed up by) LHSS - timing is perfect, lock-up nice and tight, action smooth. and after a trip back to USFA, it now shoots to exact POA. i couldn't ask for more...

That would be a tough one

Could be my Mag-Na-Port SBH conversion in 44Mag

or my stock Ruger Blackhawk convertable in 45Colt/45acp

Or my United Sporting Arms in 45Colt

The "Ultimate" SA Revolver?

For me, probably the Ruger Blackhawk in .38/357 (almost any barrel length).  I do not know how you could wear one out.  Made tremendously sturdy....."once had an old timer tell me - You can throw a Blackhawk off of a sixty mph cement truck, git run over by a second cement truck, pick it up and it will still shoot!"  Over the years, I have found this to be very valid.  The .38/357 gives you two (2) calibers to shoot and is very usable for many situations.

This sounds like a dream gun?
For me it'd be a Colt SAA, CCB 4-3/4, .45 Colt, 90% coverage engraving from Colt, one piece Ivory stocks with a steers heas similar to the one Elmer Keith always used, Well we said it was the ultimate.

Just ran across a 7 1/2" Colt SAA .45 at Jay's for only $600!  I put it on hold while I think about it.  Don't need another sa right now, but at that price I could make it a short barreled 'fun' gun.  44 Man

Here it seems to most often be the one(s) that went to the range on the last trip...  Today it is a Reeder and Gallagher 500L and a FA and Gallagher 44 Mag...  Next Week?  Who knows.. ;D

At that price it wouldn't take any hard thinking from me if I could afford it. That's a GREAT buy. I'd get it if I were you! ;) ;)

It would definately be a Ruger. Got the 45 LC and the 22. Plan on getting a 4 5/8 inch 357 mag to fit in the middle.
