dose any know anything about the sigma ve in .40
« on: May 21, 2010, 03:38:53 PM »
my wife fell in love with the shape and weight of the this sigma pistol so we bought one and i had to fix the trigger it had a wopping 10.5 lb trigger after that she could pull the trigger it now works out to 4.5 lb
the question i whould like to ask is, 1 dose anybody know if the recoil rod out of a glock will fit the sigma, there are no aftermarket recoil rods for the sigma, there was talk that the glock mod 19 whould fit, with out buyin one and seeing my self i dont know?
2. this pistol is so light the muzzle flip is horrable i whould like to add some weight to tame this situation (tungsten recoil reducer)
if the glock rod whould fit i could get what i need to make this pistol work for my wife and in avance thank you for your help

I would trade it for a S&W M&P .40 rather than go threw the expense and trouble of modifying the VE.   The M&P has better ergonomics.  The M&P has interchangeable rear grip panels to adjust the grips to fit the shooters hand, a shorter trigger reach (good for the ladies or guys with stubby fingers), and it sits low in the hand for reduced muzzle flip.  If your wife likes the VE she will love the M&P.

Not so fast. Check out their new SD line, for a move up from the Sigma. ;)

  Kid,
I had the same issues, I don't know the answer. But, I'd like to ask you what you did to the trigger? I'd like to reduce the pull on mine but have no experience with this trigger arrangement.

Well the fix was easy enouff lighter stirker spring I tried wolf and that worked all that stiffness out but the last two lb the second thing was under the striker sear there is double push spring there I took out the inner and test fired and lastly good ol gun slick on the striker face (not in the countre bore for the tho )

My opinion is ANY plastic framed .40 is gonna buck.  My SW-99, my SIGMA, my Glock 23-they all buck and snort.  Simply selling your SIGMA and buying another .40 might not give the results you want.   As for trigger pull weight, enough dry firing will eventually help make it better.  Remember the SIGMA is not a target pistol, its a good, reliable self defense piece thats highly underrated IMO.  If your wife is recoil sensitive, you may have to go with a 9mm to ever satisfy her.  My wife shoots lights out with her Glock 26.
