28ga report for bobg (pic added)
« on: May 22, 2010, 10:53:39 AM »
I bought a 28ga modified choke from bobg last year, but didn't have much of a chance to squirel hunt with it. I did dispatch 1 red squirel with it. Where it seems to have come into it's own is this spring. I own an old farm house, and the starlings seem to think that it belongs to them. The 28ga is so light and quick that I have been able to dispatch all but 2 of these annoying creatures, and am still determined get those two. They are fast and it's quick shooting. Pretty fun, and good practice. Can't wait for squirel season.
Does any one know if they ever made a 22" 28 ga barrel?

Thanks spikehorn. I was interested in knowing if you liked it. At one time i had 32 firearms. I have sold 20 of them. I really don't hunt anymore. If i croak my kids wouldn't know what to do with them. They don't have to worry about it now. ;D

It deffinately is a fun little shotgun. you get more range out of 20ga, but thats what makes starlings so fun with 28ga gotta get on em fast.

That's the kind of gun that becomes part of the family.
PROUD REDNECK CONSERVATIVE

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun

I used my 28ga on a pheasant and two gray squirrels last fall.   I'm quite pleased with the little shotgun, so in fact that it may become my primary small game and upland bird gun.
