Bought 2 Today (3 actually with pics)
« on: May 22, 2010, 02:12:42 PM »
An unfired Cabelas Sporterized Hawken in .58 and an unfired very early .45 T/C Hawkens. They were very cheap.

They would have to be or you wouldn't have bought them.   ;)
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

The .45 is unfired and the .58 is unfired as far as I can tell.  The bores are perfect.

It was made by Investarms.  The Lyman Deer Stalker and the Cabela's Sporterized Hawken use a similar stock.

I really like that little 20 gauge Swampman. Some of the rendezvous I attend are starting to have smoothbore shoots and that would be a sweet little gun for such work. That clearly is an early T/C like you said, you can tell just by the high and sharp stock comb.
The story of David & Goliath only demonstrates the superiority of ballistic projectiles over hand weapons, poor old Goliath never had a chance.
