CVA Optimas
« on: May 22, 2010, 03:57:54 PM »
I've always been a dyed in the wool T/C fan but my son talked me into getting a CVA last year. I have to admit, CVA is coming up in the world, though I still say they copy Thompson Center every chance they get. lol Anyways, our gun cabinet now sports a CVA Optima 209 .50, an Optima Pro .50 with a thumbhole stock, and an Optima Elite Compact with both .243 & .50 cal. barrels. I'm pretty impressed with the Bergara barrels. My only grouch is that 2 weeks after buying my Pro they came out with the Accura. Had I known they were coming out with it I'd have waited and got one instead of the Pro. I do like my Pro though.  ;D

my son shoots a Optima Pro stainless camo stock with the Bergara barrel
and all I can say this gun will shoot:He has on a straight 6x Simmons with a long eye relief.
I shot the gun the only draw back I find is the overall weight of the rifle for me it seems pretty heavy other wise he has no complaint.
The last hunting season he drop a huge doe with 2 triple 777 pellets and a 275 Remington core-lock bullet/sabot all I can say what a hole on the exit side
