Cold nights warm days finding fish when/where??
« on: November 23, 2003, 05:24:45 AM »
Fishing this time of year is new to me "no ice yet" its inbetween fall and ice on?? We are having 30 degree nights and 50 degree days where should i look for fish??  Would they be in the shallows warming themselves in the sun?? Or inbetween the shallows and their winter haunts?? I have had little success up against the shore.   BigBill

Just when you get good at it the weather throws the monkey wrench in??
How come they don't have winter tornies before the ice is on?? I'd like to see you guys freeze too??(kidding)

Fall is actually a great time to catch bass.  Here the water is still in the 60's and upper 50's.  The fish are chasing shad, storing up for winter.  Find the shad, and you'll find the fish.  I like to fish the main and secondary points this time of year on the highland reservoirs.  Chances are slim finiding fish in the backs of the hollers.

Now when the water drops into the 40's, the fish will suspend.  Its time then to get out the float and fly and silver buddies.  That's a month or more off here though.

There's Fishing and then there's Bass Fishing
Its kinda like the difference between Sandlot Baseball and Playing on the Team.
The difference is Practice
