Uberti SAA trigger safety problems
« on: May 25, 2010, 02:09:33 PM »
I just read on the forum about hair trigger problems with a Uberti Cattleman with an unsafe trigger. Mine is a 45 Long Colt deluxe in mint condition with probably 250 rounds through it. I wrote Uberti a week ago an a email yesterday but have not received a response. My advise is not to buy one. Why should I have to put $ into it to correct their quality control issue. I will post if they get back to me. If any readers have gotten it corrected through Uberti please let me know. Thanks Alan

I hope they get back to you with a favorable response, but.....  a new trigger is only a few bucks and changing it will usually cure the problem.  Easily done.  44 Man

And likely quicker and easier than sending it out and waiting. You need to know how to disassemble, clean, lube, etc. it anyhow.

Had a Uberti Cattlemen bird head handle 45lc for a number of years and it too had a really light trigger , While for me that was great for accuracy and not having to have it lightened up. But I made sure to warn folks shooting it for the first time after my father hit the ground 10' in front of himself shooting it for the first time , He thought there was going to be some take up to get to the bang as he raised it up towards the target ... Yeeeaahhhh there wasnt hahaha. Not easy to suprise him but that did it.

It was quite accurate and shot to POA with a few factory loads and a couple of my home brewed. Traded it off for something I wanted more .

I have 4 of them and not a problem.  All the triggers are around 3 pounds which is just fine with me and one thing I like about them.

The only trouble I've had was the too-perfect timing. The bolts quit coming up in time when they broke in and the cylinders would over rotate. But my triggers have always been perfect.
