TM7, you and I will have to disagree on that I guess. Ground truth supports the fact that the UBL and the Taliban were revolutionizing heroin in the 90's prior to 9/11, and after UBL's snub by the Saudis. Local afghanis have confirmed that, so I don't know where the other version comes from. I don't think UBL is alive anymore, but there is plenty of evidence that the supply chain is still in place and running.
World's top weapons brokers ... well former USSR states are growing and on the rise, China, NK. US & Europe are big producers, but if you go below the volume you see that its inflated with high dollar items, like missile systems, etc. Individually operated firearms on the other hand seem to be on the rise from countries outside the US, oddly enough India is the fastest growing. But in Mexico, I'm thinking there are still plenty of cold war munitions floating around from the various revolutions, etc, for the rank & file. Newer weapons are readily accessible on the $1 Trillion world arms trade circuit.
My point is, just because its a gun does not mean it came from the US; why isn't Mexico working with Cuba, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Pakistan, China or North Korea to solve the flow of weapons into the streets of Mexico?
