Building an inline
« on: May 26, 2010, 04:19:53 AM »
Been thinking about building an inline for a while now.....

So I saw an inline action in the white on Pecatonica web site and it just fueled my fire to do this. They have an action that looks like that one from Knight rifles that would allow me to build a inline 1" octogon barrel with a twist of 1:66 or 1:70 to shoot .54 or .58 cal patched round balls.
It would get a full stock maple or ash stock.

Any of you done this?  Any pictures?

I built a .32 cal ML barrel that fits a H&R handi frame.  Used an 8mm Mauser barrel and the rear part of a H&R shotgun barrel.  Larry

Sounds like an interesting project Two Bears.   A full stock, octagon barrel, ball shooting in-line would sure be unique.  If you undertake the project be sure to take lots of pictures from start to finish.

More Larry, more.  You need to start a new thread on that project.  How did it work out?  Pictures!!!!  What loads did you try?

I only fired primers in it, but you can ask the owner questions here:

Where's the bayonet? Can't have one of those dreaded 3 shot per minute assault frontstuffers with out a bayonet! That is seriously SICK. the custom inline ball gun sounds like an interesting and worthwhile project...
