This from Fox: Fellow named Anthony Tracy, who runs a Travel agency out of Texas has admitted terrorist ties, and has successfully smuggled over 200 Somali's with Al Qaeda ties through Brazil and up across the US/Mexican border. So now we're getting the rest of the story why Obama decided to move troops to the border.....

BS! that is pure obama-schmidt. He's moving troops to the border simply to have troops in position to take over the Arizona/mex border.

Arizona's new law pre-empted him and he is whizzed 'bout it. Actually, it didn't pre-empt him it just kicked him in the azz to do something and that reallty whizzed him off, so he's moving troops in under the guise of a 'terrorist threat'.

What bs. If he had paid any attention to the needs of the border states nobody woulda kicked him in the butt, but since he and the d-rats consider illegals a voting population he is simply moving troops in to protect his constituents.............. jmtcw.

Bush promised troops on the border too, when things got hot in the White House. He never delivered the troops, but it stopped the complaining. I wouldn't worry about it until the troops arrive. I'm thinkin they may not.

A bit of factual history. Santa Anna's army numbered a little over 6,000 men. He used 5,000 or them trying to route the Alamo, and it took him 13 days. At no time did he EVER even approach 10,000 men, much less 30,000. Sam Houston dusted Santa Anna's britches with less than 4,000 men, and sent him back to Mexico with a spanking, his tail between his legs, and his ears trimmed.

Now! The history of the last president and this current one, is there is a better than even chance the purported troops will never be sent or will be stationed in a non operation function on the border.

Last report i heard they were not going to be issued ammo. And were there to stop gun running not stop illegals . So if they go it would seem working on a suntan would be a safe bet.

It sounds odd that troops would not have bullets. So when crap hits the fan they what, borrow something from the citizens who will be armed and will have ammo? How would the soldiers feel knowing everyone is armed with bullets instead of them, good guys, bad guys, everyone but them.

Who thinks this stuff up?

All I can say is good call using Somalis ... State has issued several tens of thousands of visas to Somalis over the last 15 years, and they didn't assimilate, so there are about a half dozen Somali dense cities around the US. 200 more won't raise suspicions. Lot of them get jobs at the airport ... brilliant strategy, really.

As far as the troops, they're being sent to support roles, not the actual border patrol or check points. So there is no perceived need that they be armed. If they get sent ... Dee has a point, and I'll add one more supporting fact: what has Obama said he'd do that he's actually done?

Back in '98 when I was stationed at Ft. Hood, we did a three month rotation on the border at Eagle Pass, and weren't even allowed to take our weapons. We were just to be in a support role, couldn't have the locals thinking the goverment was sending an armed force to secure the border. If we saw illegals we were not to approach them, only call the border patrol and inform them of their location. I never was comfortable down there with all those armed drug runners and no way to defend myself, but to dig a deeper hole.

It's no wonder they can't find Osama, he got a face change and was elected President! lol If Osama...errr....Obama sends troops to the border it would be more likely to insure ilegals safe passage than to keep anyone out! I am hearing something even more interesting on this.
As I do not live in Texas, I can not validate.
The drug lords have apparently pushed several Mex. military units
slam out of Mexico and into south Texas. Our troops were sent to assist in the retreat.
This was definately covered up until photos started showing up of armed Mex. troops
traveling in convoys in south Texas. Any of you Texans confirm this?

sounds like they need to open the season on the mexican military. there has been documentation of this for quite a while now; even under bush it was happening.

The Texas Rangers should be able to handle Mexican troops if there is anything to that rumor, but what do the rest of us do with the 20 million invaders who have been here for years?
