243 encore with iron sights

i tried sighting my new 243 encore with iron sights today. i will be using this for turkey hunting so a scope is not legal here. i loaded nosler 55 gr ballistic tips. at 50 yds its about 6" high and i cant go down anymore with the sights. any suggestions?

Try loading the 55 grain bullets faster or go to a lighter bullet.  Less time in the barrel = less time for the muzzle to rise when the bullet exits the muzzle, resulting in a lower impact point.

Not being familiar with the Encore mounting of the front sight, or if you are using a rifle or pistol barrel, but if you can but a shim under the front sight in the neighborhood of .100", then that should give you the adjustment range you need.
