Finished my Mdl 60
« on: May 28, 2010, 02:19:05 PM »
Bought two wks ago for $100 otd at gun show in ex.cond...immediately stripped the stock and put a 4x32 Simmons on it getting rid of the dinky 4x15 Tasco.

My picture taking skills stink, but here goes...

Before:

After:

Liked the wood grain so much I couldn't bring myself to stain it red mahogany like I was going to...just 5 coats of Tung oil finish buffed in between coats.

Kind of different for me...any wood stocked guns I've had have all been dark.

Also filled in lettering on barrel with white lacquer stick from Brownells...4x32 scope makes a big difference in the sight picture too!

Hope ya'll like it.

Looks pretty sharp, almost like the stock is a nice piece of Maple. White lettering adds a nice touch too.

every day is a gift. use it well

Lacquer stick from Brownells....like a big crayon....rub over lettering until it fills.....wipe off excess....dries hard inside lettering after 24 hrs.
