It's been a long time since I updated this thread, I had the parts black oxided soon after my last post, but I've been to busy to play with the guns.  Here are the results, I stopped short of pushing the pins in all the way because I have yet to do a trigger job on the rifle.

Their was a few people following this thread as well as people interested in purchasing steel trigger guards. More information on the matter can be found here: http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/topic,216464.0.html

What finishing process are you using to remove the machine marks?  One grey photo appears to be sand-blasted or acid-dipped?  Would a rock-tubbler take away machining, round sharp corners or sharp points?

On these particular parts I tumbled them for a short period of time to remove small burrs and sand blasted to remove machine marks. Their are dozens of ways to deburr and remove machine marks as well as a vast combination of medias that can either be used wet or dry. Typically I will deburr by hand for large burrs, tumble for small burrs, and sand blast to remove machine marks as well as give a nice prep before bluing.

Just put in my order.  ;D
Try to look unimportant.   Your enemy might be low on ammo.

I have seen a couple of others mention it, have you thought of doing any in brass?

After I make a batch of them out of steel I would be willing to do them out of brass if enough people are interested.
