I meet young women who have converted to Islam. I point that out and they tell me I don't know what I am talking about. Then a year or so later after they have done a tour in Afganistan, I meet them and they are now Christians again. A little time in that world is all it takes to turn them around.

I too have a nice that married a muslium. I'm wondering how long it is going to last.

Europe is realizing how badly they made the mistake of letting so many Mosliums move into their countries. They are not assimilating, they are moving into into the same areas and taking over. They arfe setting up sheria law in their areas, and make it unsafe for non-believers to enter their area. They have the same plans for America and we will let them do the same thing they have done in Europe.

Powderman: The young women I refer to are active duty Army women. I do honestly believe that after a year in Afganistan they see what the religion really does condone. After seeing what they have seen and not believing it was like that before going there and seeing it first hand. I do believe they are no longer followers of Islam.

As for my Niece. she was sellected while a teen to be this guys wife. His family invited her over daily and over a period of several years they indoctrinated her into their way of life. Now I feel she has been lost. They were married as soon as she graduated College. No one sees her anymore. She stays with her new family now. Only her Mom and Dad are allowed to see her.

What every one needs to sit back and understand is, that some where around the time that the first Bush took office (a little after) when the U.S. "really started courting Saudi Arabia as their buddy". The Saudis were setting up and funding Islamic classes, and organizations in American colleges. The indoctrination has moved to the United States, and it is being done in our Colleges, and has even moved into many larger Public School Systems.
Many here believe that this is only recently happening under the president every one here loves to hate, but it started much sooner under both Republican, and Democratic presidents with their blessings. The two Muslims that were arrested over this last weekend trying to leave THIS COUNTRY and go to Somalia for terrorist training, were born and raised in America, and INDOCTRINATED IN AMERICA.
Our presidents, both Republican, and Democrat, and our Congress and Senate, both Republican and Democrat, have PROMOTED THIS. There is no doubt that Obama is sympathetic to the Muslim, but the last president stood at the podium on three occasions, on national TV, and announced to the world, that the Christian, the Muslim, and the Hindu ALL WORSHIPED THE SAME GOD.
I being Christian in faith most certainly do not worship the same god, but instead worship the ONE GOD IN CHRIST.
This tread which was actually, and originally about Israel and is side tracked but, this president continues down the "same path" that both Bushes, Clinton, and yes, even Reagan travelled down, which was to PUSH ISRAEL INTO CONCESSIONS AND LAND FOR TERRORISTS. We as a nation THRU OUR FEAR OF "ONE" VOTE OUR WILLINGNESS TO ACCEPT LESS IN OUR LEADERS. We ourselves, are in peril of losing our own country, and are, a little at a time, thru our voting, giving our country away, in the same manner, as these past and present presidents, are trying to get Israel to gives theirs away. There was a lesson learned long ago, which caused our founding fathers to one day stand up in UNISON, and say enough is enough. They insisted with blood to not trade or COMPROMISE their freedoms away any longer. We as a nation have become a "nation of compromise" in regards to our freedoms. We trade them, and justify what is unjustifiable.

Very sad. There have been and are a few so-called Christian cults that do similar things to their women. The difference is that much of the mainstream Moslem world seems to view this as righteous behavior while the mainstream Christian world treats them as aberrations to be corrected when discovered.

On the bright side, cultures that cherish women for brains and their total value to society on a par with men, have far more than 2X potential than do those who treat women merely as brainless property.

The thing that doesn't ring true in all of this is why that ship? There were other ships in the flotilla that were boarded. There have been other ships before, and others since. Why that ship? The simplest answer is usually the right one; the simplest answer here is that the people on that particular ship engaged the IDF. To make it otherwise there would have to be something unique about that ship. You might claim they had a hit list.

So why did they not simply shoot everyone on board, and sink the vessel. Why allow survivors with conflicting stories? It makes no tactical sense if you're planning a hit on persons of interest to allow a dissenting view to even exist. Israel has got be the most inept people at conducting a hit and cover up if this is the case; and that is so opposite of the reputation they have with their supporters and their detractors that it begs credibility. Again the simplest answer is that this was not a planned operation; it was a routine boarding that went sideways.

   He was in the Gulf war. In his own words, he was not involved in combat, but in a support unit. While support units are seldom in direct combat, they are a necessary and crucial part of the Corps. For every combat Marine, there are perhaps 10-12 in important support roles.

   Problem is, O"Keefe couldn't "cut the mustard" in a support unit ! I wonder what kind of discharge he has ?

   This guy has been a malcontent, rabble-rouser for years and he sounds like the kind of guy who would have gotten that silly 19 yr old Turk fired up enough to make a "martyr's" attack on the IDF.

TM7, wisdom dictates that the testimony of the witnesses be filtered for credibility and motive. The witnesses you have presented are questionable in their character, but I will concede that there are those that find Israel questionable in its character. So we are left with motive, why would each story be different? What do they have to lose or gain?

Its very clear on the face of it that those who participated in the freedom flotilla would stand to lose most if it was found their story was false, rather than Israel. The Free Gaza movement has prior to this event been documented as attempting to cast Israel in the worst possible light, and to draw them into embarassing situations for the purpose of discrediting them. If they are lying, and it is exposed, it will set their agenda way back. But if Israel is lying, and it was a purposeful attack, what do they stand to lose? World opinion? Money? Political support? If they had to much to lose, why conduct the op in the first place? [are you saying Israel is stupid?]

I am still left with asking, if the story is true that this was a planned hit on that single ship, why board it in the first place and not just sink it by other means? [are you saying Israel is incapable of staging an accident?] why leave survivors? this bruhaha would be predictable in any contingency planning for military operations. You would have to claim the IDF is inept at these operations, or that they were willing accomplices in their own deaths. Neither of those are consistent with IDF operations at any time.

So if you believe the Free Gaza version then you have to also believe that Israel is inept, clumsy, and incapable of simple military operations. In which case then you would have to rethink their ability to really be the evil masterminds behind so many other things which would require far greater levels complexity, subtlety and military projection.

Several years ago the best pilots the U.S. Navy had, participated in aerial war games with Israel. Some of these Navy pilots were graduated from Miramar (Top Gun School). Both teams were flying U.S. built fighters, and were possibly the TomCats. Out of 23 sorties flown, the Navy won ONE! Yep! Israel is inept.
TN, you and I know, that Israel was protecting it's borders, and it's people. That's really all the info I need on the matter. The rest is merely circular debate from the anti-Israel crowd.

Your point is well-taken, and applies to all human institutions.

I become annoyed, however, when folks blindly take the side of cultures whose religious dogma encourages, even requires, uttering falsehoods to further their religious ends, and that routinely abuse women and treat ordinary civilians as combatants.

I have mostly avoided making comments, but am having increasing difficulty with some of the 'blind faith' applied to the folks who have avowed to destroy Israel and the United states, and giving zero credibility to reporting by the western press.

BTW, the 'western press' isn't always known for its unbiased and truthful reporting, but I have reason to believe they are closer to the truth, even if disgustingly liberal in editorial bias.

What we know about the OP in this thread is that there is an internationally recognized blockade and a group of ships attempted to break that blockade. It was rebuffed with some loss of life -- what's new about that?

Get off the moral high ground and accept that there is a country fighting for its life and its citizens don't want to be slaves. Should they fail, we are next!
