Contender 209x50 questions
« on: June 04, 2010, 12:09:45 AM »
First, I noticed TC dropped production on them this year, anyone know why?
Next, if you've had one what do you think? Which cast rb/bullet mold would you recommend?
I'm contemplating getting rid of my roa for an inline 50 and I like contenders!

I have a contender 209-45 that I love and would not part with it. I shoot 50 grn T7 and a 225 power belt for fun plinking really fun to shoot. Keep in mind that the 209 45 and 50 will only fit the G2 frame not older contender. I would think that TC droped the 209-50 because of slow or no demand. I think a local dealer has a new 209 45 that I think can be had for around 150 new in box. I would have to check if you have any interest in a 45.

I had heard the TC G2 muzzleloaders were dropped due to low demand & increased warranty issues on frames (powder fouling/corrosion i guess?)

i have a .209x45, used it the last couple of seasons, been quite happy with it. Did you try Ed Kirkpatrick? He is usually a good source for hard-to-find items...
