The illegals who are already here and are arming themselves will begin a revolution to retake what they see as lands stolen from Mexico but won't stop there. Mexico or Mexicans will pour over the border like a river to join them. I think the southwest to include TX, OK, NM, AZ, CA, UT, NV, CO and perhaps on further north will be hard pressed to defend against the numbers coming at them.

 I don't see that happening. I've worked with and lived among Mexicans (legal and illegal) my entire life and I speak Spanish. Most of them don't have the 'take back our land' mentality and I don't think many will adopt it if things go really bad. Most I know personally don't even own a gun. The ones already here will mostly be trying to survive and protect their families like everyone else, not taking up arms for a revolution.

 As for them piling across the border in large numbers during a widespread disaster, I don't think conditions will allow it. The situation in Mexico will most likely be more chaotic than in the US and it won't be any cake walk to get here for those far from the border. Unarmed, untrained and with basic necessities in short supply both in Mexico and the US, the average Mexican man won't have much of a chance and in most cases won't be willing to leave his Wife and children alone during hard times (They value family more dearly than many Americans do). Throw in the fact that some Americans intent on defending their home turf will be shooting at them and there will be quite a bit of discouragement.

There won't be any organized invasion from Russia, China or anybody else. A true SHTF situation would most likely involve the entire world. Anything less and the U.S. military and community infrastructure would be able to hold together until the crisis had passed. JMO

Firearms will play a very small part. Chemicals
are far more interesting. Make someone vomit so
hard that they die from internal bleeding, or let them step on a
mine that does not explode, instead it incinerates them in
a huge 2500 degree fireball! and others
may think about messing with you. I am someone who
will do eveything I can to avoid a problem, but I will have no mercy
or compassion when it comes to protecting my family. I will inflict as many
casualties and in such a terrible manner as to be remembered by those
who come after me.

I don't think posting such would be a good idea. Handle any such discussion off line preferably via e-mail. While such might be worthwhile info to have one day it also might be construed as terrorist activity by the current government types. I don't want GBO associated with it in any way.
