Well I have gone and done it now!!!!!!!
« on: June 05, 2010, 12:09:31 PM »
Well I have gone and done it now!!!!!!! I just got back from a trip to Cabela's. It is only 65 miles from here so I decided to make the drive this afternoon. What a great store.  ;D They have everything and anything having to do with guns and reloading. I bought a set of Lee Pace Setter dies, Lee 50th anniversary Chalanger Breech Lock Kit, RCBS loading block and another pound of H-380. I spent $165.00 out the door and consider that a pretty good deal. I am going to get it set in just a few minutes and start developing a load for my 22-250. ;D Take care Dale

Better than a week in the Mall of America. I live 13 miles from one of them. They sent me a real nice Thank You card once, their mistake. The wife decided that I was spending way too much money if they would take the time to send me a card. It's like a Spec Ops mission for me to get in there now.

I live  about 90 minutes from a Cabellas store.  I can not go in there with my wallet in my pocket - if I do, I'll walk out with something that I "just had to have".  I have bought a couple of guns from Cabellas (they have a "gun show" type sale occasionally and their prices on some firearms are actually pretty good) and I can usually find a decent selection of bullets and other reloading components. I can get lost in the "Bargain Cave".....  Recently my wife has suggested that she "tag along" when I head that direction - I too think that she is keeping an eye on my Cabellas buying habits....

Congrats on your new purchase Dale - have fun!

Paul

Dale,
Is H380 the only powder you have for the 22-250?
My 22-250 and my Swift both love IMR4064.
Rl15 also shows some outstanding performance.
Don't limit yourself.
GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!!

KP, I know what you mean. We have a Cabelas's about 1/2 hr drive, just into Michigan. The wife and I limit ourselves to one trip a year. We either fill the trunk, or just grab a bite to eat there. And, both her and I have got some really good stuff from the Cave. Hard to walk out and not buy something. Usually leave the credit cards at home, just to be on the safe side. gypsyman

I have 2 pounds of the H-380 now and when it is gone I might just try the 4064. I have a friend that has the same rifle and gets great results with that powder. The velocity seems to be higher also with that powder. I am starting load development today with the H-380 and if nothing groups well with it then I may be trying that 4064 sooner than I think. Thanks and take care Dale

Cabela's is 30 minute drive from here. They have asked me to work for them several times.

You must try some Ball C lot 2 in your 22-250, It was my ole mans go to load for long distance, and my Nabe switched and loves it.

How many loading manuals did you get?

We haven't got a Cabbelas  close either.

But close to 10 in a 20 mile radius.

Our country pizza store, sells guns, rifles, pistols. She gives the greatest deals, know everything and orders everything we need.

It's awesome! "I'll have a slice of pizza, and these two boxes of ammo."
Doesn't deliver though.

Went to Wheeling and Got the Feeling????    I live about 65 miles from there as well But in Ohio.   I haven't  been over to Cabelas in a Good while.  Nice store.  Prices are a little high on most things, But ok on others.

I'm lucky I guess--there is a Cabela's and a Bass Pro about 30 miles from me. Cabela's seems to me to have more reloading equipment, and a better selection of bullets, than Bass Pro. I went to Springfiels,MO. to Bass Pro headquarters store a couple of months ago--I have never seen a better selection of gun powders though, but I felt they were still lacking on reloading equipment.
