action is really tight

Hello all, I'm new hear but have been looking around see what you have to say about the Handi's.  I love em and have for quite a while now.  quick question for you all. I have a sb2 that came with a 357 mag barrel.  was ok but the action is really tight... I sent it out for a 223 and a 204 barrel and love them both.  with all three barrels the action is tight after about 4 or 5 shots the barrel gets hot and its actually takes some force to break open the action.   I've wondered if the forearm is just a bit too long as when the forearm comes off the action works smooth and clean.   should I try shortening the forearm or is there something else going on?

If it a wood forearm just take the spacer off and sand some off the end, probably won't take much. you can also put a little grease on the forearm where it meets the frame.  Larry

If it  is shooting well and the action is just stiff I would leave it alone.  Maybe take it apart and put some tetra grease or super lube on the hinge pin and forearm surface where the metal piece contacts the receiver front.  Other than that if she shoots don't mess with it.  Handis traditionally get looser the more they are shot.
