I bought a new Varmint special last week and a new B&L Elite 4200 6 X 24 for it and took it to the range to sight it in. Imagine my surprise when the best group was over 2" at 100 yards. I tried every brand and weight I could put my hands on as well as ther reloads that group under 1/2" in my Colt. The groups went as large as 4" with some ammo. It's going back to Bushmaster but was curious if anyone else has had a problem with Bushmasters?? :cry:

I have a 16" shorty that shoots 3/4" with a good scope on it. But the barrel has been floated with a Houge handguard. I think that helps quite a bit. KN

I've had quite a few Bushies but only one with an accuracy problem - it had a loose barrel! This was a 20" flattop (Varmint type) so I pulled the barrel and made a match Spacegun out of it.

No fooling, the barrel wobbled side to side and went *clunk* when you did it, straight from the factory. Umbleevable!

Check your scope mounts first since many are of questionable virtue but if that checks OK, Send it back!

I took it back to the dealer and he went over it and could find no obvious problems so he sent it back to BM. Kind of ruined a hunt I had planned but hopefully it will come back a shooter.
