one came home
« on: June 08, 2010, 02:42:53 AM »
I used to have two kimber cdps. A 3 inch pro carry and a 4inch compact. these were both excellent guns and ive allways kicked myself in the but for parting with them. Well the compact came home. It was my favorite of the two. Its got the officers grip frame with a commander lenght barrel. to me the ulitmate in a ccw 1911. Both were very accurate and if im having a good day the compact would shoot right along side my gold cup or gold match. Ive still got to work on getting the 3 inch back. The buddy who has that has resisted my begging and crying so far.

Glad you've got an old friend back.  I fear I may be facing a similar problem since letting my son "borrow" my Combat Commander to qualify for his CHL-- :'(

I may try another one some day but I can truly say I was not please with either of the two Kimbers I owned, they both found new homes little over a year ago, I traded for a Sig P-245 and a Colt Diamonback plus a "coffee can" full of boot. ::)

I guess im just the oposite. I own colts and kimbers and an sti right now and have owned springfields. Ive only had the one sti and its been a great gun. Ive owned a couple colts that i though were substandard and ive yet to find a springfield i was happy with and quit buying them. I have owned 7 kimbers through the years and still own 3  and ive yet to get a bad one.
