I've got the folding model for my SUV,
It was the best investment for traveling/hunting that I've made in a while. I always hated carrying stinky gas cans around when hunting in the desert(s) around here, now I can keep them seperate outside the vehicle. Coolers carried inside the cargo area take up a lot of space, and rattle around a lot too. I wrap a tarp around everything like a burrito, and bungee it all down to keep off the dust.
Years ago, before these were around, I went antelope hunting in my Land cruiser, I wrapped the antelope in a tarp and put it in the back of the cruiser. when I got home I found that the tarp had leaked, funneling all the blood right onto my sleeping bag and pillow. I tried dry cleaning for the bag, but it was basically ruined. it made a heck of the mess in the carpet of the vehicle too, I got it out after many, many cleanings and baking powder treatments.
I bought a double reciever hitch for the rack and a hoist frame, and use the lifting frame over the rack, nowadays I just hoist up the game, gut (if I haven't in the field) and skin it, then put a large cooler on the rack, quarter up the animal and Ice direct from the hoist to the cooler and it's just so much easier to handle and so much cleaner to do and deal with.
The folding model makes getting around through washes and dips easier, when folded up, but harder to access things out of the back of the vehicle. still they are the best inventions for hunting/traveling with an SUV that has came along!!
