Knight Customer Service Department / I heard from Knight
« on: June 09, 2010, 10:10:20 AM »
I ordered a ramrod thimble over a week ago from Knight, and it's not here yet.  I don't know what the final cost is going to be either.  I hate to think what a complicated order would take to get.

That is why they are no longer selling MLs.

I call Knight's customer service department a few weeks ago to order some spare rifle parts that are not listed on the website.  The gentleman was in a hurry to talk to me; he did not want to write down the order over the phone; and he asked me to send them a letter with the items (only a few) that I wanted.  Geez.

I haven't had chance to sit down and write out the letter, and I am disinclined to do so when they should be happy to have telephone calls from customers who want to place orders -- a disappointing and very detrimental mindset for a customer service person.  It has made me wonder whether I should continue to put money toward my Knight rifles, or should I finally move on spend the money on other muzzleloader companies.  Knight's new management better get 100% totally customer focused in a hurry, or they are going to lose their investment.

Knight Rifles has been the leader in customer service and quality since day one. Obviously they have been newly bought and i'm sure there will be some hick ups in the process. Another thing to keep in mind is,another rifle company or muzzleloader company did not buy them. We really dont know how familiar PI is with Muzzleloaders. I'm sure Gordy and Staff will help educate and get the people on the right track to make Knight rifles more succesfull then it already has been.

I very much hope your right, but that experience had me questioned whether Knight "gets it" or do I need to move on.

You dont need to move trust me. I have a really good feeling about the whole transaction. Dont forget, Knight never stopped there customer service at anytime during the announcement of closing and being bought. I really believe they are more stable now then T/C,CVA, and Savage. And i'm very confident that a new ML will be in the works and be on the market sometime 2011.

I hope Knight makes it back because right now only Savage is making something (modern inline) I'd buy.

Though the T/C Triumph isn't bad, i agree with what you are saying. I had the CVA Accura and sold it. I also cancelled my order of a new Apex. CVA is still the bottom of the barrel on quality.

I broke the plastic ramrod thimble on my Knight LK-93.  I called knight customer service to order a new one.  The sales rep said a lot of guys who break these replace them with a steel one they have (broken plastic ramrod thimbles must be a common occurrence).  So I tell him I want a steel  one.  When I asked the price he didn't know the exact price, but it was probably four or five dollars plus shipping (he didn't know the shipping cost either).  This was a BIG learning experience for me.  I got the thimble today and Knight billed my credit card $17.59!  $17.59 for a thimble that replaced the one with a history of breaking.  I really like my Knight rifles.  I have two.  I realize it was my own fault for ordering without knowing the exact price, but I feel like I was really taken to the cleaners.

Grouse you are so full of it!! Plug your ears before we all have to put our rubber boots on. The Accura is one hell of a fine rifle, quality right down to the amazing trigger on it. And the Apex, if you want to use   a centerfire barrel, its deff one rifle to look at hard.

The Accura is a very big improvement over all other CVA'S. You cant even begin to compare that to a Savage, Triumph, or Knight Extreme/Elite.

BTW- Plug my ears??? How many Savage Muzzleloaders have you owned? How many Triumphs have you owned? How many Knight Extremes have you owned? How many Knight Elites have you owned? I'll check back in a little while. ;D

neither the savage or triump have any use in my state.

The triump is a nice rifle but IMO the Accura, especially the V2 will blows it out of the water.  Its just not set up for open sights, crappy stock and the barrels wont shoot conicals.

I must go for now, I am busy cleaning my new V2  ;D

So you haven't owned any of the ML'S above. So the bottom line is you really dont know. If conicals and open sights are what you need, your really missing the boat with CVA. Buy a White rifle. I would highly suggest the Super 91.

no need to own those out dated rifles. The knights do not fit my "build" and they are filthy to clean. Now the savage im sure is a nice rifle but not my cup of tea. No info out there on how they shoot full bore conicals.

And what the heck, cleaning the V2 out i noticed a screw that feels like it has a spring in it. Its in the same position as the Apex adjustable trigger. I didnt think they used the adjustable trigger on the V2. This i need to check on.

says the lehigh-knight- tc salesman  ;D

That is an adjustable trigger on the V2. i was fiddling around with the screw and found that if i screwed it in all of the way, it got heavier. They dont mention this on the website so i am wondering if they are doing this once the rifles get over here in the US.

As to the original post, i feel  Knight should have replace this part for free as they are aware of it being a cheaply made, prone to failing part.

I just ordered some .52cal sabots from Knight, or PI, it took me   2 days of calling to get the order in. The first day no one seemed to know anything about them, I even gave them the Knight part number. I was told to call back the next day to talk with Gordy Edwards, well he wasn't in just then but called me back a few hours later.
I placed the order and recieved the sabots 8 days later. They're a little slow right now but I think they will get into the swing of things soon.  :)

I was told by Edwards that they intend to upgrade their website soon with a lot more of the products they have ,especially the .52cal products.

 That would be nice   ;D
