barrel wrench pilots
« on: June 09, 2010, 11:02:58 AM »
Could someone tell me if the pilots on the large frame barrel wrenches interchangeable. Is that what the allen wrenches I read about are for?

Depends on who made your barrel wrench. If it is from Dan Wesson (plastic or steel version) then No. They are caliber specific.

I believe you are talking about the one on Ebay and GB that is for multiple calibers they have 2 styles; one for the sm/med and one for the lg/supermag.  That's an aftermarket item, that's made by an individual.

We're the ones that make the wrench with the interchangeable pilots. The pilots unscrew from the wrench, get a pair of pliers to unscrew them. Best to keep them a little snugged up, as if they are finger tight they may unscrew during use. And we have the other pilot sizes available also.  :)
