.204 loads please share
« on: June 09, 2010, 04:34:05 PM »
I have recently acquired an encore in .204 ruger, after giving up on a H&R project, The problem is I am going on prairie dog hunt in 2 weeks and I need to cut the research time for an accurate load down so that mass production of rounds can begin, any help would be greatly appreciated  Thanks Tom

My  Encore 28" Prohunter barrel likes the 40 grain V-Max with 27.1 grains of H4895 in Winchester brass.  It shoots them into sub .5 MOA.

Thanks for your responses, I am almost out of time currently shooting loads now(waiting for barrel to cool), imr 4895 seems to be working for me so far w 39 gr blitzking if it will give me consistent .6 or less it will be a go, I  27 grains seems to be best . as I said thanks again the information from both of you has been a great time saver.       PS: driving myself bankrupt and crazy at the same time  ;)

Forgot to add I am not the greatest shot, and trigger pull is rather stiff.
