Contender Question
« on: June 10, 2010, 06:55:15 PM »
I have 2 Contender frames that I bought in the late 1970's. I have always kept one set up with my 22 barrel and the other frame has always been used for my 3 centerfires.

Well today I decided to install my old 357 Herrett barrel on the 22 frame. After installing the barrel and forearm I cocked the hammer and slowly lowered it. I tried to open the action but it would not open. I also tried to cock the hammer and it was locked in the down postion.

Does anyone have any idea as to what has happened? The barrel works perfect on the other frame.

Thanks and Regards, Keith

I had the same thing happen to me but with a later frame.  My solution was to send the whole mess to T/C and they fixed it at no charge.  I've lived happily ever after with the frame and 357 Herrett barrel and even took such things as a black wildebeest with it.
