Dale-
About 20 or so years ago, I hunted at a place called Black Boar Lodge, up in Tioga County. Don't know if they are still around, but it was a good hunt - lots of land, lots of game, and plenty of opportunities to take game. I took a big old grizzled black boar with a .44 mag Redhawk at about 60 yards. Butchered him up when I got home, decided to have a couple pork chops that night. They looked and smelled normal when I fried em, but I knew I was in trouble when I had a hard time cutting them. It was like trying to chew, well I don't know what... They tasted ok, but I just couldn't chew em. I have pictures of a tug of war I had with a pork chop with my German Shepherd - we couldn't tear it!...lol That pig ended up dog food. Following year, hunted the same place - I video taped while a couple friends shot their boar. Their pigs came out great eating, but they were a lot smaller and younger then mine. The owner told me he live trapped them in Florida once a year, then released em on his land.
