Left handed autos
« on: November 25, 2003, 06:47:56 AM »
I need some help; I am looking for a 12 ga magnum class auto loader, in a "turkey configuration" and left hand action.  I have contacted Remington and they have no plans to offer the 11-87 in this setup.  Do any of you fellows know of other manufactures that produce a reliable gun in this configuration.

Thanks :D

Any particular reason why you want an left-handed auto?  I am a lefty and a solid Ithaca M37 pump fan.  I have no reason to feel that their latest Turkey Special now offered wouldn't give you what you want.

Thanks for the reply.  The gun is for my son and it is for coyotes...pumps are just not the best in that situation.  Personally I favor stacked tubes but for coyotes the autos are a plus.

Wacky,
OK, I was just checking out the Mossberg line of magnum autos........NOT left handed, but with the great ambidextrous tang safeties.  He might want to try one for fit at a local shop.

Benelli makes a left-handed Super Black Eagle.  Pricey: the one I looked at a few months ago was ~$1200, but that was in an expensive shop.

Remington does make a short barrel with open sights for the lefty 11-87.  OBTW, my lefty girlfriend's lefty 11-87 has performed flawlessly since we bought it last summer.

I was trying to get away from having to by a new gun and immediately work on it.  Maybe that will be the route I have to take.  It wouldn't be that much to get the sights off and a bead tapped in and barrle blued.  I'll bet it comes out a lot cheaper than a Bennilli.LOL
