Ruger factory repair praise
« on: June 11, 2010, 04:35:51 PM »
I sent my Ruger Blackhawk 357/9mm back to Ruger after trying to fix it myself.Would not cycle.
I went to UPS and was floored by the price to ship overnight(only way they allow on pistol)but off it went.
Ruger called me to approve some parts to be replaced and two days later I have my gun back.
I am not sure if a bill is comming, but so far they have not charged me.

A note was included in the box that said "all internal parts were replaced"

They did not even ask for return shipping as I was expecting.
I realize this bill may already be in the mail, but super service anyway.

Glad there are still quality companies out there that will stand behind their product.

I feel that I should at least spread the good news to help repay their good service to me.

I know that I will buy a Ruger again!  7 ain't enough!! BH357,41,45C,MkII,#1-223,#1-22/250,10/22.

+1 Alan!

Couple months ago I bought a BH in 41mag that was pretty beat.  Cylinder pin would work its way out after a couple of rounds.  Paid $300 for it.  Sent it back to Ruger asking to have it restored to like new condition.  They replaced most everything and all I had to pay for was a re-blue.  Gun is in like new condition as requested!

I now have a #1 there.  I bought it new a bit over 2 weeks ago and it misfires...load, aim, click...round after round.  I'm sure they'll make it right!

Recently bought a Flattop .44spl. Didn't have one of the cylinder notches machined in it! Sent it back and all is well.
We must pass along/encourage hunting, shooting, the outdoors etcetera.

Sent both my 44 special and 41 magnum Blackhawks back for repair.   They were purchased new within the last months, so Ruger paid for shipping both ways and charged nothing for the repairs.

Turn-around was 3 weeks.

Just received them back this last week.   The 44 special had a pitted and dented front sight.  They replaced the sight.   The 41 magnum had the front sight canted to the right.  They straightened it.  Both were test fired before sending back to me.

My opinion:  Neither should have left the factory that way.  QC needs to be improved at Ruger.

Also had a LH Ruger Hawkeye 30-06 that wouldn't extract rounds.  I fixed it myself by taking apart the bolt and bending the claw.  http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/topic,209375.0.html
