To GBO friends from the UK..
« on: June 12, 2010, 04:39:49 AM »
  Sorry guys;
  ..But I feel compelled to apologize to you for our current "commander in chief". A couple hundred years of close, cordial relations...and then this "piece of work" comes along an tries to destroy it !

  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1285716/Obamas-BP-oil-spill-ire-Americas-ALWAYS-tried-Britain.html

  Please tell friends at home who may not be aware..Over half of the voters did vote for it..by far less of those tricked into doing so would do so again.
    Of course, there was nearly half who never were sucked into the "pied piper" syndrome.     Sorry, friends...

The article is as anti-American as it is anti-Obama.
I don't like how the article down plays the contribution our WW1 and WWII vets made saving England during these wars.

"In 1917, the United States did at last enter the war, after the British had suffered hundreds of thousands of dead and wounded. Even then the Americans sustained very few casualties by European standards, as they did in the next war. "

Did you actually read the article or just post it because it bad mouths Obama in the first paragraph?

  Crusty;
     That writer's ire was raised by a U.S. president who has been courting Muslim potentates and whose political party rose in unison when a rude, arrogant Mexican president rose to TRASH one of our 50 (not 57) states. His idiocy is proven by his statements that the U.S. is not a Christian country, but one of the leading Muslim countries.. :P The writer is answering a prez who is attempting to cover his own incompetence by trashing another "evil corporation". BP shares most of the blame..but govt inspections were ostensibly done every 6 months. That buck stops at Obammy's desk !
  He has good reason to be disturbed that a US prez would try to destroy a British corporation, but we also should be disturbed that our prez is driving down the stock of a corporation which is 49% owned by Americans, mostly in retirement accounts.
    He could not control the oil leak any more than Bush started hurricane Katrina..but got blamed by the "nutsy left" for doing so..
  The leak is one thing, but the cleanup is another...No cleanup started on our beaches for about 50 days and his detractors now try to blame the Army Corps of Engineers ! Hey, he's the commander-in-chief..the buck stops with him.  ::)
  Is the foot-dragging because he WANTS the pollution of the gulf coast? It would help him to shut down offshore drilling and curiously, about the time this platform exploded, Obammy put more millions of western acres off-limits to mineral use. :o
  He has Communized some banks, medical care, auto producers and other industries...perhaps if he can drive BP to financial failure, he can "nationalize" many of their assets.
       Yes, I apologize for my countrymen, at least some of them... for foisting this poor excuse for a leader upon an unsuspecting world.
    Old Jimmy Carter gave radical Islam their great start by allowing the Iatolla khomeni to waltz into Iran and get billion$ in oil money to finance terrorism and terror training facilities. This guy appears to be Carter II ..with an even more Muslim supporting agenda...
   Yes; I apologize..

BP has a HISTORY OF SAFETY VIOLATIONS. I doubt the boys south east of me a couple hundred miles are any crazier about BP than the Obamanation claims to be. Their way of life is wiped out forever, and it's only getting worse. BP's CEO, has made some pretty stupid remarks himself, in down playing the havoc to the Louisiana coast, and this is just the beginning. BP has lied like a dog trottin on the magnitude, and it has continually been like peeling an onion to get the truth out of BP.
I have no use for Obama, but I ain't too damn impressed with the limey's performance on relaying the truth of the situation, which is the worst in history. Lying does not improve things.
This is a good opportunity to bash Obama if that trips your trigger, but I don't see an apology to England about remarks made about a money grubbing company "from England", that's destroying our gulf coast, with an accident and trying to cover their own asses with continual lying about it.
I've had a many a Englishman tell me that they would have won both wars without our help, and given that attitude I don't owe'em a damn thing.
IG, the Dixie Chicks didn't echo my feelings, and neither do you. Just for the record. ;)

  Crusty;
    Perhaps one of the things which first "put off" the Brits is the arrogance and lack of couth shown by Obammy shortly after he got "selected" by the dim-bulb gang, to the detriment of we constitutionalists.
      One of his first acts as prez..if you recall..was to march into the Washington, DC mansion of many rooms, pick up the bust of Winston Churchill, presented by Tony Blair, as a gift from the British people to the American people....and send it right back to the British people.
     I don't know how good your memory or grasp of history is, but during the darkest days of WW2 Britain was our staunchest ally...and Winston S Churchill was a living symbol of not only that alliance, but bulwark of courage for the whole free world.

   Crusty;
    Just how would you feel if you gave somebody a gift, a precious gift symbolizing your friendship over the decades...then promptly the next week, Fed Ex..dropped it at your door..REJECTED ?  Just how would you feel ?
  How would you feel if we the people of the U.S. gave say South Korea, a bronze bust of George Washington...and they handed it right back..saying, "stick it" ?  just how would ytou feel ?
   I know how I feel..believe we owe the UK an apology, and if our prez lacks the manners & decorum..I guess the rest of us have to do it !

  I have to agree.  If we had a president who honored our friends as friends British writers would be writing about how America came to their side at their darkes hour, not about how we came in at the end of the game.   President Obama has gone to lengths to act as though there is no long standing special relationship between our two countries and he started doing so as soon as he got into office.

What,,,genuflect to the Brits for what?....destroying our premier Gulf estaurine system..? On this world changing environmental disaster....BHO and the American People are not angry enough for cyrin out loud....not even close. There should be nation shaking outrage...OUTRAGE.  We need action.  We need all assets and minds brought to bare on this matter weeks ago. Other world corp petroleum companies should be brought in to advise, assist, and perform..and suck up crap.  ANGER and PISSED OFF is not enough.....TOTAL OUTRAGE should be the action.  People need to be out in the street...2 million people were in the street for the Stanely Cup victory, huh? But BP cracked the world, poisoning an entire ocean, destroyed livelihoods and lives; and people sublimate and want to be polite to Brits and remember the good ole days of the big wars..  ::) ::)  Give me a break!
..TM7

 TM:
   Enough hyperbole already..Where did I say "genuflect" to The Brits ? Besides, Obammy has been doing that to every Muslim potentate and tin-pot dictator he can locate...don't know if he has any genuflections left over !  ;) :D ;D
  Don't confuse the British people with a corporation TM..Are you Citibank ? ::)  Perhaps we all, including the Brits have seen Obammy's low bow to the Saudi King..   ..But then, some Muslims do hold that king in high regard, correct ?

  Then we all, Brits included.. watched as Obammy refused the customary bow to the Queen. I know, we don't customarily bow that way, but if he really craves to bow, this would have been a more appropriate time.

   Add  to this the return of the Churchill bust and his snubbing of the Israeli prime minister, and it seems clear where his loyalties lie !

Along the same lines, aren't you the same guy who used to have an avitar with a tubby lookin dude holding a parrot upside down? Are you that parrot? You sure seem to enjoy repeating your self incessantly!  :-* :-* :-*

I am just inquiring Crusty, it was amazing that a fellow under the screen name Crustacious who had a photo shopped image of a sheep watching Cabin4 on tv was banned, and then all of the sudden someone by the name of Crustacious shows up with that same exact avatar and political views. I'll just have to have Graybeard lok into it. Coincidence?

  Never saw Sarah in makeup like that...must be a NEW lie from the left ! :P   Even done up that way..she looks better than Hillary, Pelosi or any of those other anal-retentive liberal females, say nothing about the many male+female liberals.. ;) :D

    Again; friends from the UK;  In case you haven't' noticed, there is a huge contrast between conservative and liberal women in politics !
  Now, you heard Arnold describe many Democrat politicians as "girly men"...did you know that many of their women are "men-girls" ?

   Here's a video which points up some prominent examples...no wonder the libs are so jealous of Sarah !

  Couldn't help but notice crusty's byline;

   He/she should have finished the statement;
