JADYN UPDATE.

She's been home about a week and 1/2. 103 days straight in the hospitol, on life support for over 2 weeks, infections all through her body, legs swelled 2x normal, and terrible seizures where she would try to gouge her eyes out, bang her head against the bed, and try to pull her lips off. She hasn't had to have blood for over 3 weeks, praise the Lord for that. They believe that the thalidomide did all that to her, but it was a last resort to stop the bleeding. She's been back on it for several weeks now without any bad effects. She still can't walk on her own from the bad swelling and pain in her leg, but she's having a ball being home again. My dil hadn't see her home for the 103 days. She stayed in the room and slept in a chair that whole time, leaving only to use the bathroom or change clothes and shower. She will be 4 years old in Oct. Thanks for all of the prayers, and we ask that they continue. Charlie.

BILLY. Thanks friend, she needs every single one. Hopefully we won't run into any storms up there. She's been so near death so many times I don't see how anybody could deny the power of prayer. Even the docs said that without prayer she would have been dead years ago. Charlie.

  Forgive me for an uninformed question but...
         How did she come into contact with Thalidomide, I thought that stuff was outlawed in the 1960s, following the millions of Thalidomide crippled babies worldwide.

IG. Not banned at all, still used for a variety of things. It is extremely expensive, like $ 26 a pill, or dose, over $6,000 a month. They were told before discharge that Johns insurance co has cancelled them, they owe over $250,000 and climbing. Jadyn has been a huge experiment for those docs from 5 different countries. The medical field should pay them for the knowledge they have gained about this rare disease. Getting ready to go in a 1/2 hour or so. We are taking another grandaughter with us, an 11 year old.   Wow !  I am very surprised that they still use the stuff, after all the heartbreaks from years ago..

We had a good trip. They brought Jadyn over to Moms yesterday evening. Still no transfusions but problems with an infection of some kind in her legs. She's pretty chubby from the hi protein stuff they give her through the IV. She was really pale and her face bloated from the steroids, yes, she's still on them too. Her legs have little muscle from being off her feet for 4 months. She was able to walk pushing a little stroller but she tired easily. Yesterday was the 1st time in just over 4 mo that she walked without them holding on to her. It was a good visit but she was not real cheery like in the past.
Mom was weaker this trip and was going to the doc today. Next month they will test the cancer again. Still there but not moving for over 6 months. Doc says when it starts it will move quickly. Thanks again for all the prayers, they both  need them all. Charlie.
