I saw a show a long time ago on the chanting from the mosque in Dearborn. It was ruled freedom of speech to blare the prayer on speakers wide open in the early morning. Boy wouldn't that be interesting to wake up to every morning?

So they have been Americanized? Apparently they live very quietly, as at 60 years old, I was not aware there were that many living there for so long. I wonder where the Muslim haters on these forums are and what they think of this not so known fact?
I am not fond of the Muslim religion and have stated on numerous occasions that it is a dangerous religion, but I must say, they have either hidden their activities well, or are real Americans.

Not news to me.  And yes, Dee is correct, they have been Americanized and what that means is that from a religious perspective they are not radicals who call for the destruction of everybody else and that they both appreciate and enjoy the freedoms they have here.  This means to them that they do not have to follow the rantings of insane Islamic clerics, they can educate their children and not have to marry their educated daughters into the servitude of arranged marriages where one family owes another a favor and takes a doctoral level graduate and marries her off to a radical lowlife who subjugates her into slavery, they do not have to send their sons off to suicide bomber school and that they can practice their religion the same as would catholics, protestants and Jews - which means they don't impose it on everyone else. 

Yeah, they have been here for quite a while and are productive and enthusiastic members of our society.  Some women may wear burkas but do not hide their faces.  You hear less about America's muslems than you hear about some of our own polyigmous groups.....waddaya know 'bout that...............

  Yes, it's a well known fact that so many live there.  Not that i hate them, nor am i saying it's "their" fault, but that is the chit hole part of the state of Michigan.  Not much good happens in the Detroit part of the state, it's a huge tax dollar sink hole.

  The thing that amazes me is, they get to vote in the Iraqi elections!

I live in Michigan, not to awful far from dearborn .. let me say this, the arab community generally keeps pretty quiet.
they did celebrate when sadam was taken down, but had religious services when he was hung, and when the 911 attacks happened
they had a celebration that made the papers. dearborn is a more well to do area of the metro detroit area and most of the arab people living there have money. as afar as i know, i dont talk to many of them , with the exception of the ones who are business owners, but the ones i have talked with are american citizens, with arabic ties and non citizen family members.  there is a deep dynamic going on in that community with feelings on both sides of the fight ( arab vs US  and regilion vs secular )

Well I guess Texas news stations didn't carry it, or I missed it in the mayhem concerning the celebration of 911 in Dearborn. This is the first I've heard of it. That in itself is a revealing thought. I guess Fox News (the fair and balanced one  ) failed to air that celebration also.

I was a federal witness in a mail fraud trial in Wayne County (Detroit) MI back in the 70's.  The case involved grocery coupon fraud.  Most of the small mom and pop stores that were caught in the sting were Arabic owned. 

The the felony charges againt the store owners ment that if they were convicted, they would loose their liquor license.  They hired the best defense possible and surely paid big dollars under the table.  A female judge (who should have understood a grocery coupon) declared the millions of dollars of coupons they illegally presented to manufacturers for payment, should be valued on the per pound value of the paper, thus the charges were reduced to misdemeanor levels, and they all pled quilty.

Go figure!  No large grocery manufacturer wanted to sue a mom and pop, they just wanted to clean up the fraud.

DEE. It was on national news and not just Dearborn, several other places right here in America.  I can still see the Godless scum cheering and dancing over the deaths of 3,000 Americans. I was hoping to see a huge bomb go off right in their midst. Those scum should have been beaten within an inch of their lives then dropped into the Godless nation of our choice with no chutes. While I don't remember anything about the alleged Dearborn 911 celebration, in looking around this morning I did find the 2009 Festival on youtube which jogged my memory of the HATE Israel paraphernalia for sale there, and their attitude, and the hostile security force that faced the Christian news cameras.
It's funny how there is so much going on in the world, that those type of incidents are crowded out of my old mind, to be replaced by new crap, only to be replaced by the latest, and then the latest again.As someone said earlier, in so many words, and in now, my own words: Just because the dog is sleeping now, doesn't mean he won't bite.
I believe the apparent innocence of the Dearborn Muslim population, given the available evidence for any to see, is that the gentle sleeping dog, not only will bite, but has teeth reserved for the Christian, and the Jew, and is Muslim first and foremost, and American only on the outside.

I am not much on typeing so bear with me. Two police officers pulled up the street in Dearborn and seen the muzzes danceing in the street, cheering when the towers went down. It was hard to turn away and not do something they said. I will not say what they told me  they wanted to do, but you can imange. A bunch came up to northern Mich last winter to a achun (sp) and bought all the guns and ammo they could. April this year there was a gun show in Birch Run, Mich. Agun they bought alot of guns and ammo. What are they stock pileing for??  freetrapper

hi freetrapper. let me say this first, i am a US Army Desert Storm vet. i live very near Birch Run and attend just about every gun show they have there, i have even had a vendors table a few times myself. I abslouetly do not like any arab national i dont trust them and strongly dont want them in my country.. now having said that.. i have never seen a single arabic person at a gun show in Birch Run.
at least anyone who was dressed traditionally and that anyone could tell they were arab.. im sure there are arabic descented people that did and do attend.. but i think that saying that they bought all the guns and ammo they could is a dubious statement.
I know that at least at the birch run shows, over all purchases have been down regardless of the claims of hording because of some vendors dramatically increasing thier prices, for the last year or so. if any group came in and bought all the guns and ammo they could, that would be noticed and the slow and weak sales statement would not have been made to me by Jerry.
