Spent a couple hours tearing her down and scraping out years of accumulated God knows what out of the trigger and bolt assemblies. She functions as smooth as silk and has a heavy( ish) 5 pound trigger with a very crisp release.Gonna have to get used to that! Bought a box of Remington 150's and ,if the weather holds, will try her out tomorrow. After that, the first thing needing to be done will be to get some linseed oil into the stock. The original varnish has about 60% remaining, but the inletting is bare wood as far as I can tell. Its also the driest wood I've ever seen. The rifle fits me very well and although I've heard the 721-722's described as " ugly", I dont see the reason. While certainly not a custom rifle, the lines are very clean and nothing looks out of place or proportion.
