45 GAP reloading
« on: June 15, 2010, 05:10:52 AM »
A fellow I know knew that I reloaded for a 45 (ACP) and told me that his son bought a Springfield 45 GAP, for a good price, and as he (the father) reloaded for several calibers (but not any 45) wondered if the GAP used the same dies as the ACP like the 38/357 or if he would have to get dedicated dies.  I scratched my head and intelligently answered, duhh..I don't know but will try to find out.  He wanted to know as bullets for this calliber are evidently quite pricy.  Please excuse the run on sentence structure as I haven't had my second cup of coffee yet  this morning.

It should not be a problem , the GAP is not short enough that it will cause an issue with the auto dies reaching the case for belling and seating .
