does it fail when the mag is full ?
does it fail if there is only a few rounds in the mag ?
does the slide stop short of pushing the round fully into the chamber ?
can you manually cycle the slide and the second round load ok ?
are you letting the slide go forward manually or are you hitting the release ?

Mine does that every now and then, but only with flat nose, hollow point ammo.  It feeds FMJ ball ammo all the time.  I have found that when I chamber that first round it is best to not be at all gentle with the slide.  Pull it back hard and fast and let it go quickly, trying to make the action work closer to the speed it does when fired, because like yours it always feeds the next rounds just fine.

Same on mine. Slingshot the first round, or use the slide release. If you let it down easy, it's going to nosedive. Nothing wrong with the gun, it just needs the full force of the spring to load the rounds.

Firm, full-length sling-shot on the Kahrs.

Agree-- Full-speed, full-stroke priming for the Kahrs.  My B-I-L(s) have had trouble getting mine to chamber the first round when they handle it un-confidently.

well have learned that once the mag is loaded with 6rds it will feed 50% of the time if i tap the bottom of the pistol grip or get rough it will go to battery
but seems that the flat or hollow points are the prob?
if i slam the slide it will feed....looks like normal Kahr function..

thank you all

here is one young man's opinion how to cycle a Kahr.
short web video ..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjLbFOw8sow&playnext_from=TL&videos=tscHwn83-2E&feature=grec_index

while you're there , there are some  other Kahr vid's that are worth the time to view
