I am a newby to this forum, but have been hooked on Handi,s for about 10 years. What amazes and irritates me are the iron sights. The rifles them selves are great and accurate!! The factory sights are bad. A new 500 S&W shot 8 inches low, came bach with a set of plastic fire sights, but then shot ok. My 45-70 BC had the wrong front sight, they fixed that also. Put a williams peep and front sight on 44 mag to make a shooter out of it. Also put a 1 1/2 - 4 power scope on regular 45-70 handi, probably should have removed the factory sights on it. I just ordered a new 45-70 TALO trapper and these are supposed to have williams sights, so hope this guy will be good. Why do they make such a good gun and then cut corners on sights? Have had alot of fun with these guns and am also a hand loader. The 500 S&W had a lot to do with getting into that. It sure helps the cost of shooting and loading reduced loads in some calibers makes it even more enjoyable. Have gotten a lot of great information on this forum, Thanks Ideal 60
