Stock and forend change out

I have a 204 ultra handi and a 22-250 handi. I like the stock and forend on the 22-250 better than the 204 ultra stock. However, I like the 204 better than the 22-250. Both rifles shoot well. If I put the 22-250 stock on the 204 am I just asking for trouble or will there be any difference?

Stocks are fully interchangeable on all modern H&R single shots with the exception of some forends on shotguns.

You heard the old saying "If it ain't broke ...don't fix it..? "  Even though all of these stocks are interchangeable,there is always a chance of changing how a rifle shoots when you change things on them.Sometimes it doesn't make any difference at all..sometimes it will help accuracy..sometimes it will open groups up. Each rifle/load combination is different and acts differently.While 1 load may shoot  bug hole groups with 1 forearm with a pressure point..another load in the same set up may do better free floated..or full length bedded.. You just need to try different things and see what works best for you.

Mac makes a good point, getting ready for 2009 deer season I swapped the original laminated stock out on my 25-06 Ultra for the new style synthetic stock to make it lighter to carry, using both loads that shot good in it, groups went from two shots touching to 3" groups at 100yds!! Being short of range time to work up a new load, I chose to swap the stock set back, by that time I'd used up most of the factory ammo that shot good, so I tried a third factory load which still shot under an inch with the factory lams. So as Mac said, be prepared to start all over again dialing them in if you do swap stocks.
