NH Moose Lottery 6/18/10
« on: June 19, 2010, 08:20:18 AM »
Faithfully I ventured to Concord, NH Fish & Game HQ for the annual computer generated lottery, and again, 5 years in a row sat with my fingers crossed. As the computer did it's thing in a matter of a few short minutes the names were picked, printed in alphabetical order by WMU and read out loud to the eagerly waiting 100+ wannabe 2010 moose hunters in attendance. The outcome was the same as the previous 4 years, I did not hear my name. After a brief moment of disappointment I then started thinking about what am I going to do with that week of vacation I set aside for my 2010 Moose Hunt. Oh well I guess I'll have to come up with another hunt-ANY SUGGESTIONS??

Hey Bill...you can always go to NewFi.  It'll be a bit more expensive but, how many moose are you gonna shoot???  Er...scratch that....stupid question...all we can!!   Or there's WHP...Sept.30-Oct.4th!!

drdougrx Those dates might be a problem with my business schedule, but they are tentative dates on my personal calendar. I have a Nat Sls Mtg in Aug and I'll know my schedule better after that. I've been down to the range and burned some trip7 powder in my Omega and she's ready to go. I was hoping I was going to use her on my NH moose hunt, but that's history now. Keep the posts coming!

Will do.  If you have interest in a NEWFI moose hunt, I can give you a few outfitters that I'd use.  But...till the chill'n are outta college...no "real" hunts for me.....

I partridge hunt in NH every year at that time and I ALWAYS see moose wishing I had been picked.

You just know those Moose would steer clear of you if you actually had a permit.  :)

Hey 475cal-yep there always is next year but I'm starting to think it's a racket for the state collecting $15 a year. If I don't put in one year I loose my accumulated points. Three of us have been in it since the point system started and not one of us has even made it to the alternate list. The guy seated in the chair in front of me was drawn and a couple of minutes later his wife's name was announced, 2 in one family?? I'm not crying sour grapes, I'm just dissapointed. Good luck with your pistol and stay safe!

Hey Doug, the last time I won in a lottery it was called the draft and I drew the #11, which won me an opportunity to go to Vietnam. I see some light at the end of the tunnel with 2 years 4 months to go b4 retirement, so maybe the good Lord is waiting for the right time when I don't have to worry about planning my vacation time. Until then I'll continue to do the local deer hunting thing. I'm getting ready for a 10 day vaction in Wisconsin & Tennesse with my bride and a whole bunch of nature.
