All it does is remind me that welfare comes in all shapes and sizes. I don't like it, I resent it. I'm about to have to sell my home (paid for) and move to another state for a job offer, after the economy took a giant dump on my investments. I'm 60 years old and I've never had a handout, nor did I ever expect one. This thread is exactly what you and I talked about. They (the farmers) think they deserve it. When the market went down on real estate, the government didn't make up the difference to me and others in this area. We ate the loss. T
The farmers on the other hand get coddled. All of my family on both sides were farmers long before subsidies, and they managed. Just barely, but they did manage. I drank coffee this morning with two farmers that get the subsidies into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. They don't know that I know exactly how much they have gotten, and all they do is talk about how hard it is. Both drive $58,000.00 "farm pickups".
How do I know about the pickups? I asked them, and they love to brag. Limited Edition farm pickups with diesel pump tanks and air compressors in the back.
