Party of Parasites
« on: June 22, 2010, 11:14:08 AM »
A local farmer made news a while back because he paid to have a trailer painted, "Are you a Producer or Parasite / Democrats - Party of Parasites" and displayed it along 71 Hwy (a big N-S highway on the East side of town).  It kept getting set on fire.  His story made the paper and then someone got the bright idea to run him in the database for government payments to farmers.  In the last 15 years he has collected more than $1,000,000 from the government.

I believe we had this conversation some time back on pms. Seems farmers in your area really aren't much different than the ones in mine. Recently the owner of the local grain storage elevator stole farmers grain, and sold it keeping the money. The farmers want the state government to do something and are crying like babies in a maternity ward. They aren't getting much local sympathy cause they all live like kings, and everyone knows their getting big farm subsidies, and lying about it.

Actually I had wrote the above post in a PM to you, hit send, and then found out that I am PM blocked.  So I threw it up here instead, figured you'd like it.

All it does is remind me that welfare comes in all shapes and sizes. I don't like it, I resent it. I'm about to have to sell my home (paid for) and move to another state for a job offer, after the economy took a giant dump on my investments. I'm 60 years old and I've never had a handout, nor did I ever expect one. This thread is exactly what you and I talked about. They (the farmers) think they deserve it. When the market went down on real estate, the government didn't make up the difference to me and others in this area. We ate the loss. T
The farmers on the other hand get coddled. All of my family on both sides were farmers long before subsidies, and they managed. Just barely, but they did manage. I drank coffee this morning with two farmers that get the subsidies into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. They don't know that I know exactly how much they have gotten, and all they do is talk about how hard it is. Both drive $58,000.00 "farm pickups". ::) How do I know about the pickups? I asked them, and they love to brag. Limited Edition farm pickups with diesel pump tanks and air compressors in the back. ::)

Your emails ain't blocked anymore by the way.

He probably is a Democrat ..using the sign for "cover".. Perhaps he even started the fires, realizing (as a good Democrat) that he should "never waste a good crisis"... ;) :D ;D
