I buy, sell, trade, buy, sell, trade. Biggest mistake was selling my 6in. Colt Python, Colt Gold Cup national Match, S&W 29 (2) 8 3/3 in barrel & 4 in. barrel, AND Colt 6 in .22 Diamondback.... Duhhhh What the hell was I thinking. Hmmm what are those (5) Handguns worth now?

In 1972, while in the Air Force, I met a young women I wanted to marry.  I was only at the location on TDY and it was between paydays.  I pawned my German Drilling, double 16 with 30-06 below for $75.00 to take her back with me to my home base.  Sure do miss that gun, last one I saw was going for $3000.  Still got the wife, but sure miss the gun! ;D

early model tang safety ruger 77 in 264 win mag, traded for the same gun in 300 win mag, man I miss that 264  :-[

oh and AMT 22 mag, what a hunk o junk

My biggest mistake was not buying more guns before I started my family and I had more disposable income.  :(

Worst mistake was buying a Magnum Research 357 rotary breach handgun?  Firing pin broke the first time to the range.  Had it replaced and traded it on my second mistake.  A Thompson Contender.  ;D  It was stolen from my house on base a few years later but that was to late.  The addiction had already started!

I don't sell guns anymore.  On occasion I will upgrade something (trade/sell a older Contender Barrel and replace with a custom) but not if it means having to sell something just so I can get it.  I have traded off a few guns I bought cheap as trade material, Handi Rifles that sort of thing but since I've been able to afford nice guns I try to buy things I want of have a use for and I don't intend on selling them.  I tell my wife they are an "investment".  When she ask's me how many guns do you need I ask her how many shoes/much jewlery/clothes does she need?  That usually shuts her up.

I had to check who the OP was when I read this.  The second paragraph sounded like it could have been written by me.  :D

Once upon a time, a long long time ago, I stupidly sold a beautiful Colt Python.  I have regretted it ever since.  Then I sold off a pair of very well made SKB 12 and 20 gauge side-by-sides.  That was another silly thing to do!  There's probably more; but I've got all this stuff blocked out.   ;D

It was a good gun ... while it lasted.

When It had problems it went all the way and no one could or would fix it...

Back in the late 70's I bought a Clerke 32 S&W. It actually broke in half while I was shooting it.

Not buying
December 29th 2009 Gander Mountian Flint MI has a nickle 38 Colt Diamondback perfect 650.00 woke up the next day called to have them put it on the side I was commin HAHA


Buying a pink Remington 597 (for my GF)
would literally shoot parts and pieces out the first couple shots of its life took it back to Gander the third time pretty much demanded a 1022

Biggest mistake buying,

A Desert Eagle in .44 mag when they first came out. What a POS. Total jamm-a-matic. Sold it and bought a 629 DX.

Biggest mistake selling,

Whew, a 29 Smith, a 19 Smith, a 629 DX smith (yes, from above), a King's custom 1911, a Springfield 1911 customized by Frank Glenn..

There's probably more, just too depressing to think about.

I've replaced the 29 and the 19. NO WAY I'm going to make that mistake again. Still looking for a really nice Gold Cup 1911, and maybe another 629 DX.
