  So, why did Obammy fire the general..well, remember the communist dialectic..the end justifies the means; and the general was hurting BHO with his base(radical left) constituents. The following clip explains it quite succinctly.

A Naval War College professor I previously studied with sent this to me over the weekend about this issue. The author is a retired Army LTC. Its a long article, but very interesting.

Endless war, a recipe for four-star arrogance
By Andrew J. Bacevich
Sunday, June 27, 2010

Long wars are antithetical to democracy. Protracted conflict introduces toxins that inexorably corrode the values of popular government. Not least among those values is a code of military conduct that honors the principle of civilian control while keeping the officer corps free from the taint of politics. Events of the past week -- notably the Rolling Stone profile that led to Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal's dismissal -- hint at the toll that nearly a decade of continuous conflict has exacted on the U.S. armed forces. The fate of any one general qualifies as small beer: Wearing four stars does not signify indispensability. But indications that the military's professional ethic is eroding, evident in the disrespect for senior civilians expressed by McChrystal and his inner circle, should set off alarms. ...

 I would suppose if the risk of Mr & Mrs Importance's sons & daughters facing combat were as true today as it was in WW2, Korea & Vietnam, the big shots would not be so eager to commit the troops.

   A funny incident was related to me this past week;
   The story centered around a local Vietnam veteran named Larry. Larry was one of those guys in Vietnam who routinely asked to be assigned to go back to the jungles. He was wounded more than once and came home with many earned medals. He was restive and spent a couple years dealing with his own demons. Finally, he got squared away, got into the sand & gravel business and is now partnered in a successful ready-mix company.
   Larry told us that he was visiting a brother-in-law who is a recently retired cop.  Here in NY, retirement pay for state and big city employees usually ranges from riduculous (ridiculously high) to the sublime. Larry's B-in-law had just gotten a major raise and when Larry remarked that it seemed a very extravagant increase; his b-in-law said "Well, I deserve it "! When Larry asked .."How so"?
  The man replied..."well, I put my life on the line"!
   Larry simply replied " Yeah, tell me about it !"  ;) :D

this is the thing that happens when politicians try to win a war from D.C. instead of at the front. Same thing happened in WWII with Patton. If the President would have let him fight a proper war, WWII would have ended much sooner and thousands
of allied lives would have been saved. I hope history does not repeat itself. But power hungry obama will try to be in charge of everything and once again it will cost thousands of lives.

This whole mess would be over now, if the war in Iraq and Afghanistan had been fought like much of the first gulf war was....Schwartzkopf made short work of the deal then.
