Thought some of you DIY gunsmiths and camo lovers might be interested in this www.camodipkit.com - it is a camo dipping kit that you can do at home on guns, and other hunting gear.

It's nice..but kinda pricey for a DIY project. The digital camo would be real neat..but how durable is the stuff?

It looks to be the same process the factory dipping is. The protection comes from the clear coat sprayed on when dry. I have had some factory dipped stuff scratch off. You should even hit the factory stuff with some flat clear. I agree, is pricey, but a little cheaper than having a shotgun dipped for $175. There will be a learning curve, so I am sure the first $99 would be a learning process. But hey, you could dip all your hunting buddies turkey and deer guns and make some $$. Thanks for the link!

It sounds nice, but for the same $100 I could get a local guy to duracoat two rifles in earth toned colors.  If the kits were closer to $50 or so I'd probably give it a try.

After typing this i had to check ebay.   Type in "Hydrographics Water Transfer Dip Kit" and you'll find options for putting camo print on things for $55 plus $13 for shipping.   Probably better deals out there too.

I've got a couple of factory dipped guns and don't care for them that much.  I like the rattle cans jobs I have done myself better.  At least my camo jobs can be touched up real fast and easy.

In the future any stocks I order will have the Spider Web finish on them.  That's what came on my Weatherby in Black.  Sky ordered it in Tan for his 30-06 Savage.  And I ordered one in Black for another gun I am building in 25-06.  The wife put my(Her) .35 Whelen Mauser in a Tan Spider Web stock as well.

That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I have been trying to practice with this stuff and can't say that it is going well. I bought the kit and have also bought some other patterns off the internet . Not all the film is the same and it is very subject to humidity. I have taken a break from trying as it was working very hard on my blood pressure .Will save it for indoor work next winter. It is no where as easy as shown in the video at least for gun parts maybe ok for plastic boxes . Kurt
