I was surfing the net and ran accross this Wikipedia question. It was such a blatantly stupid question, followed by an even more ignorant statement, that I registered as a member just for the sake of replying!
Question;
What are deers ( yes he said deers not deer ) killed for? Deer are usually hunted as a sport but rarely they can be eaten after shot.
My reply;
Why in the world would you supose deer can rarely be eaten after being shot? You eat cows, hogs, chickens, fish, ect., ect. after they are killed. That is unless, and I'm guessing you are, a Vegan. I'm also betting you are anti hunting. In which case all plants are living things and you eat them after they too are killed. Venison is much healthier than any store bought beef or pork. When properly field dressed, cooled and butchered venison, aka deer, are very good eating. Venison is rich in protien, low in cholesterol and doesn't have the chemical aditives of store bought, farm raised, meat. Everyone I know eats what they kill. I'm Cherokee and my people have lived off of deer they shot for centuries. As have all First Nation Peoples as probably have your own ancesters no matter your heritage. Many people I know donate a deer to food pantries. One deer equals aprox. 200 meals for the needy. Hunting helps keep deer numbers in check. Otherwise they over populate their habitat and begin to die of starvation, auto accidents and disease due to the lack of a sufficient number of natural predators. The income derived from license fees goes a long way to providing and upkeeping their habitat. Money derived from firearms sales, amunition, clothing, camping gear, hunting accessories and such puts a large amount into the National income. Not to mention the large number of jobs provided to make and supply such items. You should really know what you speak of before making such a foolish statement
