Thanks Bill, but as I have admitted before, I'm just feeding my addiction to GBO, so I feel I'm kinda selfish in that respect, but it's my pleasure to be here, a big thanks to you and Matt for making it possible.  ;)

I'll take it to the range as soon as I get some dies, looks like Redding and Hornady both make die sets for about $68,  I already have lots of 223 brass.  8)

Not to worry Pete, I was a bit worried they might be custom dies, but they aren't,  just a bit more than normal dies which is certainly no big deal.  ;D

On the potential 45-90 barrel, Wayne and I discussed making it a 338-06 Impr-Impr, that would save him from having to rebore it to salvage it. Since the existing chamber is too deep for a 338-06 Ackly, we think it can be made an Improved version using 280 brass which is longer than 30-06 or 270 brass, dies for it will cost about $80, still not the cost of custom dies, but a bit more than normal.

Congrats Tim I consider you one of the top authority on Handi rifles. I have one of these I built on a stub. A stiff load of 4198 and the 58 gr Hornady is big medicine for the yotes around here.

Thanks Tim and Congratulations.

Now for questions to Tim or Pete or whoever can answer them.

What did it start life as?  A .22 centerfire that was rebored?  or something else.

I would really like a 6x45 myself.

Thanks Gary, closest relative other than the parent cartridge(223 Rem) would be the 6mm TCU.

Tim, I scratched my head till I got a bald spot trying to come up with a caliber you didn't have.  With the help of Wayne and a bunch of the other guys we came up with the 6X45.  Wayne could do it, we could get the barrel and we thought perhaps you might even like it.  It is different.  It ain't a moose wholloper, but might just be fun to shoot.  I hope it turns out to be a shooter for ya.

I agree with everything posted, Tim is THE man, no doubt.
I first "met" Tim on the Huntsman/sidekick forum

Tim does have a mean streak though....I still LMAO when I remember his review of the lever gun scope on Cabela's or someplace.  wish I had a copy of it.

Bunch of great guys here on this site too.
