ria compact?

one of my local toy stores has one in
it has the beavertailed grip safety and skeletized commander hammer
it also has a lowered and scalloped port
nib i can get it for 400
are these any good?
any issues noted with em?
is that a good price?

They are good, no issues that I know of , and it is a good price.  Compare the price on the auction sites.  You will be pleased with this pistol.

Get the tactical one if they have it, sights a lot easier than the old 1911 type on the base model compact.  Have one, brother has the early one and both are great guns.  Just wish my Colt 70 Series Govt Model would have been as good without a work over.

Another vote for the RIA 1911.  Mine is the basic a1 version, and shoots like a house afire.  The skinny military sights are OK, but higher profile sights would make the gun a little faster I guess.  Mounted a holographic sight on mine.

I've had an RIA Compact for over a year.  Initially, I had some FTF's, so I shipped it to their shop in Pahrump, Nev.  Arnel, the gunsmith, called me personally to say they had received it. A week later, he called me back to tell me that he had adjusted the extractor, polished the feed ramp, and recut the chamber.  I had the gun back in 10 days, no charge from RIA, and it has been flawless since.  My only expense was shipping one way (tip: never, ever ship a firearm UPS).  For the tweaking Arnel did, it was worth the cost and trouble.  Such customer service is rare these days!  I'm sold on RIA for a quality firearm at an entry-level price, and outstanding customer service. ;D

mine feeds fine with any bullet profile I'VE TRIED, works fine in others' hands, has good thorough parkerizing, locks up tight.  with some good grease in the pores you'll find it's good for carry too (assuming you don't have sensitive skin- petro chemicals soaking into your lovehandles and leg might be an issue)
