You'll need to ream your primer pockets.  I wouldn't buy it with intentions of necking it down unless you plan to do some inside neek reaming also.  Seem to recall that LC caused me a problem when I necked them to 25-06.  Case capacity was smaller also.  My experience was 30 years ago.  Might not be the same brass today.  Maybe someone else can offer a suggestion.

Lake city brass is all I use in 223 anymore, got a box full and take a lot of 100 to clean, resize and remove the primer crimp. Its good brass. I've also used it in a couple 30-06s with no problems.
If its a good sale pick up some to try, you will like.

Got 400 1x 223 from a member here, after alot of prep, cleaning, pocket work, trimming (lot of'm were way long) then after once firing in my gun and neck turning,,their great  :D

Sure they have a smaller capacity,,I like it, I'm useing way less then listed max loads and shooting dimes.

I bought new 06 5.56 X 45 LC brass about two years ago. It was very good quality, with no primer pocket crimp to clean up. I turned the necks for a custom 223 barrel I have with a 1-14" twist.

You only have to worry about the crimp if it has been loaded.   New brass won't have a crimp unless it is primed.  LC brass that is primed is usually only available from someone who has purchased loaded ammo for components.

I have never had a problem with LC brass.   I have a lot of it and have made a lot of wildcats with it.  You do have to anneal it after 2-3 firings or you can start splitting necks.  I prepped 1000 LC 5.56 cases years ago and am still shooting it.   (My daughter is 24 today and she was a baby in a crib when I got these brass and did the de-prime, crimp removal, trim, etc.  Got to do reloading when mom went shopping and I stayed home.)  Probably have 8-10 loadings average.   I have lost more in the field than I have worn out or cracked.
