Surplus ammo
« on: July 01, 2010, 05:23:53 PM »
Some of the surplus ammo is dropping in price.  I'm not sure if its not selling or the cost is comming down.  I find it harder to grab the stuff on sale too or they offer free shipping.  It seems to dryup very quickly.  I have seen the new wolf ammo in 223 and in 7,62x39 for around $199 at aim surplus when others still have it listed for $250+++++++.  It just makes me wonder who is scrxwin who.  Then i get a sales paper and they still can't beat aim's prices.  It makes me wonder if i should wait more to see if the prices go lower or buy now.

The way i see the market i think its really slow business wise.  I ordered some new fishing stuff and got it within days.  I never got stuff this quick.  They have to be really slow from what i'm seeing.

With the stock market falling and things getting worse maybe the prices will fall more??

I was at a gun show this weekend and noticed ammo prices were coming down there also. Some guys still had crazy prices on there ammo, but it was not selling. I think the Obama panic buying has slowed and now people are starting to shop around for deals rather than paying any price they can get it at. Hopefully this will drive prices even lower.

I was at a local gun shoe recently and two different dealers had wildly different prices for the same ammo. 12.95 for 50rds 9x18 mak ammo while three tables away the dealer wanted 19.00 for the same stuff. I like to shop around and get the best price as much as I can. Only have so much money and try to get good purchase prices. Hey maybe the guy you referred to bought when ammo started to go up. And now prices are going down and he's trying to make his investment back. tough luck.
