What year was it made

I have a H&R model 088 SER# BA471---X and I was wonder what year it was made. I looked on the FAQ page and it had a year for AB but the only thing I saw with the BA had a C in front of it and mine does not have the C. But I think that was talking about the different receivers.

Most likely it was a transition serial number near the end of 1986 just before H&R Inc went out of business, the model 088 was made 1979-1986.
