Choke mod. on H$R

Has anyone had a 'smith thread a Pardner or Topper for choke tubes?  Is the barrel thick enough?

There are always a lot of guns available new and used, but usually with fixed choke.  I just picked up another used, and would like it shorter, and with choke tube option.....

I have a shortened 20 gauge that has been threaded for choke tubes and it's great. My gunsmith does it but I lucked out and bought this one this way. I may someday have my gunsmith do a couple for me. If you shortend the barrel just about any  H&R would be OK for choke tubes, even most older full length (and thinner) H&R barrels could be done by using thinwall tubes, which my gunsmith also installs....<><....:)

No, it's not a typo.  I can't pass a gun rack with an H&R in it anymore....If I can't buy it, I must at least fondle it.....

I had a youth 12ga 22 inch barrel (Originally Modified)threaded for Remington choke tubes by a gunsmith in South Carolina.

It works well now with the extended tubes I use.

Cost about $40.00 5 years ago.

recently had my old topper modified barrel threaded for win-chokes. seems to me to be thicker than my winchester 1200 or my mossberg 500 with factory choke threads. for what it's worth, bubba.
